Overview

Savannah, water and the lions in the trees.

Queen Elizabeth National Park brings a classic savannah safari to western Uganda, between the forests of Kibale and Bwindi. The Kazinga Channel, which links Lake George and Lake Edward, draws large numbers of hippo, buffalo and elephant to its banks, and a boat trip along it is one of the highlights of a Uganda trip.

In the park’s southern Ishasha sector, lions are known for resting in the branches of fig trees. It makes a natural stop on the way between Kibale and Bwindi, guided by one of Dexter’s local partners.
