Overview

Where the herds spend most of the year.

The Serengeti is where the great migration spends most of its year. The herds calve on the southern short-grass plains around January and February, move north-west through the middle months, and reach the Mara River on the Kenya border from around July. Where you stay in this huge park depends almost entirely on the month you travel.

Dexter plans your Serengeti days with you and with his partner guide on the Tanzanian side, so the timing lines up with the rest of your trip. He does not guide in Tanzania himself: your guide here is a licensed local partner he has worked with for years.
